AI & Data

AI Strategy & Governance

Find the AI use cases that genuinely pay off, back each with a business case, and adopt AI responsibly with guardrails aligned to the EU AI Act.

Is this for you?

You might need this if…

Staff are already using public AI tools at work, and there is no policy on what data may go into them.

The board wants an AI plan, but ideas are scattered across departments and nobody can say which are worth funding.

You’ve run AI pilots that impressed in demos but never made it into daily operations.

You’re unsure which of your AI systems fall under the EU AI Act, and what that requires of you.

What we deliver

What it covers

AI value assessment

We review your processes, costs and data to find where AI can cut cost or add revenue, and build a business case for each candidate. You see which opportunities are worth pursuing before you invest.

AI roadmap and use-case prioritisation

We score use cases on value, feasibility, data readiness and risk, and turn the best into a phased roadmap. Each step has an owner, a budget estimate and a clear go/no-go point.

Responsible AI and EU AI Act compliance

We inventory your AI systems, classify them by EU AI Act risk category and identify the obligations that apply. You get a practical plan to close the gaps, aligned with your GDPR work.

AI governance, risk and model policies

We set up the policies, roles and approval steps that decide how AI is selected, built, used and monitored. This includes acceptable-use rules for staff and clear rules on which data may go to which tools.

AI literacy and upskilling

We run tailored training for leaders, specialists and staff, from what AI can and cannot do to safe everyday use. People gain the confidence to use AI well, and you address the AI literacy expectations of the EU AI Act.

AI operating model and centre of excellence

We define who owns AI in your organisation, how ideas move from proposal to production, and which skills to build in-house or source. A small centre of excellence keeps standards, reuse and learning in one place.

Our approach

How we work

01

Explore

Interviews with leadership and process owners, plus a review of current AI use, data and tools.

02

Prioritise

Use cases scored on value, feasibility, data readiness and risk, with business cases for the strongest.

03

Safeguard

Policies, risk classification and governance put in place so AI can be used with confidence.

04

Launch

First use cases started, training under way and benefits followed up against an agreed baseline.

Best practices

What we bring to every engagement

Start with the problem, not the model

A use case earns its place by the cost, time or risk it removes, not by the technology it uses.

Choose the deployment model deliberately

For each use case we weigh ready-to-use tools against a private deployment inside your infrastructure, based on data sensitivity, cost and control.

Classify risk early

Knowing a use case’s EU AI Act risk category up front avoids building something you cannot put into production.

Governance that enables

Clear, light rules and a fast approval route curb shadow AI more effectively than outright bans.

Check data readiness first

Many AI ideas stall on data quality and access, so we assess the data before committing budget.

Measure value after go-live

Every use case gets baseline metrics and a follow-up, so benefits are proven rather than assumed.

Outcomes

What you get

  • A phased AI roadmap with decision points
  • An inventory of AI systems with EU AI Act risk classification
  • AI policies, including acceptable use and data rules

  • An AI operating model with clear ownership

AI-powered

Unleash the power of AI

We offer the possibility of using AI throughout this work: ready-to-use AI tools, or a customised version built for your organisation that can run inside your own infrastructure. In AI strategy work, AI tooling speeds up the groundwork: it analyses process descriptions, tickets and documents to surface candidate use cases, and helps map your AI systems against EU AI Act requirements. We can also demonstrate shortlisted use cases on your own data, with ready-made tools or in a private environment, so decisions rest on what you have seen working.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to get an AI strategy in place?

A first prioritised roadmap usually takes four to eight weeks, depending on how many departments are involved and how mature your data is. The AI Value Assessment is designed to give you a shortlist backed by business cases in about four weeks.

Should we use public AI tools or build our own?

It depends on the use case. Ready-to-use tools are quick and cost-effective for general tasks, while a customised version running inside your own infrastructure keeps sensitive data in your organisation and gives you more control. We help you choose per use case, and many organisations end up with a mix.

Does the EU AI Act apply to us if we only use AI and don’t build it?

Often, yes. The Act places obligations on organisations that deploy AI as well as on those that provide it, especially for high-risk uses such as recruitment or credit decisions, and it expects staff to have adequate AI literacy. We help you work out which obligations apply to each of your systems.

How do you work with our existing suppliers?

Altechy is your single point of contact and brings in specialists from our partner network for areas such as AI regulation, data science or change management. We work alongside your current vendors and platforms rather than replacing them by default.
