Managed Services & Operations

Managed IT Operations

Servers, networks and cloud environments monitored around the clock, patched on schedule and kept within agreed service levels, so your own team can stop firefighting.

Is this for you?

You might need this if…

Your IT team spends most of its week on patching, alerts and small incidents, and strategic work keeps slipping.

Night and weekend coverage depends on one or two people who are on call far too often.

Nobody can say with confidence which servers are behind on security patches, or what changed before the last outage.

Your infrastructure now spans on-premises, Azure and AWS, and each part is run in a different way by different people.

What we deliver

What it covers

24/7 monitoring and management

We monitor servers, storage, networks and core services around the clock and act on alerts according to agreed runbooks. Issues are handled before users notice, and you get a clear record of every incident and action.

Patching and configuration management

We run a regular, risk-based patch cycle and keep configurations under control with baselines and change tracking. That closes known vulnerabilities quickly and stops environments from drifting apart.

Managed cloud and hybrid environments

We operate workloads across your data centre, Azure and AWS with one set of processes, tools and service levels. You get consistent operations and reporting, wherever a system happens to run.

Capacity and performance management

We track utilisation trends and plan capacity ahead of demand, so systems stay responsive during peaks. You avoid both emergency purchases and paying for resources nobody uses.

Our approach

How we work

01

Assess

We review your environment, tools, documentation, incident history and current support arrangements to understand what is being run and how.

02

Transition

A planned handover: knowledge transfer, runbooks, monitoring set-up and access, with parallel running until we are ready to take responsibility.

03

Operate

Day-to-day operations against agreed service levels, with monitoring, patching, incident and change handling.

04

Improve

Monthly service reviews, trend analysis and automation of recurring tasks, so the service gets more stable and less manual over time.

Best practices

What we bring to every engagement

Runbooks before handover

Every critical system has a documented runbook before we take responsibility, so operations never rely on one person’s memory.

Patch by risk, not by calendar alone

Internet-facing systems and actively exploited vulnerabilities are prioritised over routine updates.

Every change is traceable

Changes go through a lightweight change process, so the first question after an incident, what changed, has an answer.

Alert on symptoms that matter

Monitoring is tuned to what affects users and business services, not to every metric that can be collected.

Automate the repetitive work

Recurring tasks such as restarts, clean-ups and checks are scripted and scheduled, which reduces errors as well as effort.

Operations that support compliance

Patch records, change logs and incident reports are kept in a form that supports NIS2 and ISO 27001 requirements.

Outcomes

What you get

  • Round-the-clock monitoring with defined response times
  • An up-to-date patch status for every managed system
  • Documented runbooks and configuration baselines
  • One operating model across on-premises and cloud
  • Capacity forecasts that inform budget decisions
  • Monthly service reports and improvement plans

AI-powered

Unleash the power of AI

We offer the possibility of using AI throughout this work: ready-to-use AI tools, or a customised version built for your organisation that can run inside your own infrastructure. In infrastructure operations, AI summarises alert storms into a likely cause, suggests the matching runbook step and drafts incident and change records, so engineers act faster and documentation stays complete.

Starter offer

Operations Transition Readiness Review

A fixed-scope, four-week review that shows how your infrastructure is run today, where the risks are and what a managed-service handover would involve.

Week 1

Discover

Kick-off, interviews with IT staff and collection of system inventories, monitoring set-up and incident history.

Week 2

Assess

Review of patch status, documentation, on-call arrangements and operational risks across on-premises and cloud.

Week 3

Scope

A proposed service scope, service-level options and responsibility split, worked through with your team.

Week 4

Recommend

Findings and a transition outline presented to IT management, with clear next steps.

You receive

  • An assessment of operational maturity and key risks
  • A patch and documentation gap list for critical systems
  • A proposed managed-service scope with service-level options
  • A transition outline with phases, dependencies and effort

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to hand over operations?

A transition usually takes six to twelve weeks, depending on the size of the environment and the state of documentation. We run in parallel with your team until runbooks, monitoring and access are in place.

Can we keep some systems in-house?

Yes. Many clients keep certain systems or tasks themselves and hand over the rest. We agree a clear responsibility split so nothing falls between the gaps.

Who actually does the work?

Altechy is your single point of contact and is accountable for the service. The engineers come from specialist partner firms in our network, chosen for your technology mix, and we coordinate them for you.

Do we have to change our monitoring and ticketing tools?

Not necessarily. We can work in your existing tools, such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management, or propose a change if it clearly improves the service.
