End-user Computing
Give every employee a secure, well-managed device or desktop from their first day, wherever they work, with less manual effort for IT.
Is this for you?
You might need this if…
New employees wait days for a laptop, and IT still prepares devices by hand.
Devices are managed with a mix of on-premises tools, Group Policy and manual fixes, and you want to move to cloud-based management.
Contractors, partners or remote teams need secure access to your applications without being issued a company laptop.
Users complain that their devices are slow, but you have little data on what is actually wrong.
What we deliver
What it covers
Device strategy and lifecycle
We define which devices different roles need and how they are bought, refreshed, redeployed and retired. You get a lifecycle plan that balances cost, user needs and sustainability.
Modern device management
We move device management to the cloud with tools such as Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, so devices are configured, secured and updated wherever they are. New laptops can be shipped straight to users and set themselves up at first sign-in.
Virtual desktops
We design and implement virtual desktops with Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 or Citrix where they fit — for contractors, sensitive workloads or specialised applications. Users get a consistent, secure desktop from any device.
Operating system and workplace upgrades
We plan and run Windows upgrades and workplace changes at scale, testing applications in advance and rolling out in waves. Disruption is kept low and no one is left on an unsupported system.
Digital employee experience monitoring
We measure device performance, application crashes, start-up times and user sentiment across your estate. IT can fix issues before they are reported and show how the employee experience improves.
Our approach
How we work
01
Assess
A review of devices, management tools, policies, applications and support tickets, combined with input from users.
02
Design
User personas, a target management model and security baseline, defined with IT, security and the business.
03
Pilot
A representative group of users tests the new devices, policies and applications, and feedback is built in.
04
Roll out
Rollout in waves, often aligned with normal device refresh, with communication and support for users along the way.
Best practices
What we bring to every engagement
Zero-touch from day one
Devices registered with Autopilot or an equivalent arrive ready to configure themselves, without IT handling the box.
Personas, not one size for all
Device, desktop and application needs are defined per role, so field staff, developers and office workers each get what they need.
Security by default
Encryption, patching, compliance policies and conditional access are part of the baseline, not added later.
Test applications first
Application compatibility is checked before an upgrade, because that is where most rollouts get stuck.
Extend device lifetimes
Redeploying, refurbishing and responsible recycling lower both cost and environmental footprint.
Measure experience, not just compliance
Device telemetry and user feedback show whether changes actually make work easier.
Outcomes
What you get

- Experience dashboards showing device health and user satisfaction
AI-powered
Unleash the power of AI
We offer the possibility of using AI throughout this work: ready-to-use AI tools, or a customised version built for your organisation that can run inside your own infrastructure. In end-user computing, AI analyses device telemetry to spot failing hardware, slow applications and recurring problems before users report them. It can trigger automated fixes, guide users through self-service and help IT staff write device policies and scripts faster.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How long does a move to Intune take?
A pilot is usually running within a few weeks, and full rollout typically takes a few months depending on the number of devices and applications. Devices are often moved in waves as part of normal refresh, so users are not disrupted.
Do we need virtual desktops?
Not always. Modern device management covers most users well, and virtual desktops are best for specific needs such as contractors, sensitive workloads or hard-to-deploy applications. We help you decide where they add value.
Can you handle device logistics and support as well?
Yes. Through our partner network we can cover procurement, staging, delivery, support and recycling, with Altechy as your single point of contact. We also work with your existing device suppliers and service desk.
Do we need new Microsoft licences?
Intune, Autopilot and Windows 365 depend on specific Microsoft licences, which many organisations already have through their Microsoft 365 plans. We check what you have before recommending anything new.
