Sustainable IT
Measure the real footprint of your IT, cut energy and hardware waste where it matters most, and give your sustainability report data that stands up to scrutiny.
Is this for you?
You might need this if…
Your sustainability team needs IT emissions data for CSRD or ESG reporting, and IT can only offer rough estimates.
Laptops, phones and servers are replaced on a fixed cycle, whether they need to be or not.
Cloud and data-centre energy use keeps growing, and nobody knows which workloads drive it.
Customers and investors ask about the climate impact of your digital services, and you lack a credible answer.
What we deliver
What it covers
IT carbon footprint assessment
We calculate the emissions of your devices, data centres, cloud services and networks, including manufacturing of hardware. You get a baseline, the biggest sources and a reduction plan you can report against.
Green cloud and efficient infrastructure
We right-size workloads, remove idle resources and choose regions, services and schedules with lower energy use and emissions. The same changes usually reduce cost as well as footprint.
Sustainability data and reporting platforms
We build the data platform that collects, calculates and traces sustainability data for CSRD and ESG reporting. Figures come from source systems with an audit trail, instead of from spreadsheets.
Hardware lifecycle, reuse and circularity
We extend device and server lifetimes, set up refurbishment, reuse and certified recycling, and add sustainability criteria to procurement. Fewer new devices means lower emissions and lower spend.
Sustainable software engineering
We help development teams measure and reduce the energy their software uses, from efficient code and data handling to carbon-aware scheduling. These practices become part of normal engineering work.
Our approach
How we work
01
Measure
Data collection on devices, infrastructure, cloud and suppliers to establish a credible emissions baseline.
02
Prioritise
The biggest sources identified and reduction options ranked by impact, cost and effort.
03
Reduce
Changes to hardware lifecycles, infrastructure, cloud usage, procurement and software practices.
04
Report
Automated data flows, KPIs and reporting that feed your sustainability report and track progress over time.
Best practices
What we bring to every engagement
Count the hardware, not just the electricity
For end-user devices, most emissions come from manufacturing, so keeping devices longer often matters more than energy savings.
Follow recognised methods
Calculations follow the GHG Protocol and its scope 1, 2 and 3 categories, so figures are comparable and defensible.
Use supplier data where it exists
Cloud providers’ carbon reporting tools and supplier declarations replace generic estimates wherever possible.
Make reporting traceable
Every reported figure can be traced back to its source data and calculation, ready for assurance.
Link footprint to cost
Idle servers, oversized cloud resources and unnecessary device refreshes waste both money and emissions.
Build it into procurement
Sustainability criteria in purchasing and contracts, such as TCO Certified requirements, shape the footprint for years ahead.
Outcomes
What you get
- An IT emissions baseline with the main sources identified
- A prioritised reduction roadmap with cost and impact
- Lower energy use in cloud and infrastructure
- Longer hardware lifetimes and a reuse and recycling process
- Traceable sustainability data for CSRD and ESG reporting
- Green software practices adopted by development teams
AI-powered
Unleash the power of AI
We offer the possibility of using AI throughout this work: ready-to-use AI tools, or a customised version built for your organisation that can run inside your own infrastructure. In sustainable IT, AI classifies asset and invoice data to fill gaps in emissions calculations, finds idle or oversized workloads and helps extract figures from supplier documents — so the footprint is based on more complete data with less manual work.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to measure our IT footprint?
A first baseline usually takes about four weeks, depending on how easily asset, energy and cloud data can be collected. The IT Carbon Baseline is designed to deliver that first, documented version.
Will the figures work for our CSRD or ESG report?
We calculate according to the GHG Protocol and document data sources, methods and assumptions, so the figures can be included in your report and reviewed by your auditor. We work with your sustainability team to fit their reporting structure.
Does sustainable IT cost more?
Often it saves money: longer device lifetimes, fewer idle servers and right-sized cloud resources reduce both emissions and spend. Where a measure costs more, we show the trade-off so you can decide.
How do you work with our suppliers?
We collect data from your existing hardware, cloud and service suppliers and help you set sustainability requirements in future contracts. As your single point of contact, we coordinate the specialists from our partner network and your own suppliers.
